Ep. 297: Beginning Of The End, Pt. 1

We’re down to our final 4 episodes which means we needed to invite back one of our favorite and most popular guest artists. Dallas-local mixmaster Unkle John is bringing straight heat in this 2-part mix that will hit you way, way deep. John has always been one of the most mind-expanding DJs that we’ve featured over the years and this fitting finale is much of the same quality that we’ve come to expect from him. Featuring 57 minutes of beautifully selected Melodic Techno and Deep Progressive tracks, this wicked good mix will take you on a journey to the center of yourself…until you realize the truth…there is no spoon. Keep the music loud!

Ep. 268: Experiments In Tension, Pt. 3 – Death Of The Infinite Melancholy

When you don’t think you can go on any further, when all is broken and seemingly lost, you look at the pieces of what remains — it’s just you. And though you may not be what you once were, you came out through the other side. You’re here. You made it. The final installment of MrPanda‘s Experiments In Tension highlights this breakthrough. It’s a release. You’re letting go. And it’s almost defiant in its statement. Death Of The Infinite Melancholy is a 60 minute, harder-hitting Drum ‘n’ Bass mix for good reason. It’s a declaration of personal victory — one that came with scars and complex memories but a victory nonetheless. You can look back and see “there was light on the edge of the dark side.” And one final time you say, “So I let you go,” as you give yourself to the music…

Ep. 268: Experiments In Tension, Pt. 1 – Loss & Rediscovery Of Self

Happy New Year, friends! We’re excited to embark on another year of great music together! To celebrate the occasion, we have the incredibly talented MrPanda (TheLostArt, Badwolf Entertainment) back on our airwaves for his 5th episode — an epic, deeply personal 3 part mix series entitled Experiments In Tension. The title stems from music theory, specifically in Jazz, where dissonance is used to create feelings of tension and release. It’s aptly named as these 3 mixes represent the ups & downs, ebbs & flows within relationships and strike an intensely personal chord with MrPanda himself. Part 1 is dubbed Loss & Rediscovery Of Self and features 60 minutes of energetic Liquid Drum & Bass tunes. It presents a path of rediscovering one’s self after loss and starting anew. We hope you join us on this spiritual journey. Filled with passion. Healing. And music…

Ep. 248: Call Of The Wild

Time to drop some DMT in this week’s Summer Series episode! DMT is the aptly named, DFW-local brainchild of Dreadnaught (from Ep. 230) & Michael Todd (a 28 year pro in the Dallas music scene). As a duo, DMT breaks through any genre boundaries and pushes a wide-reaching auditory experience to dance floors — making crowds move, shake and get lost in music that is both powerful and unanticipated. And in this week’s episode, they do just that! Featuring an epic 2.5 hour mix full of banging underground Techno, Tech House and Industrial tracks, we’ve got a wild one for ya, party people! Heed its call…

Ep. 200: Decades Of Dance, Pt. 2

We finish celebrating Ep. 200 with this 2nd part mix from resident DJ Massive Spectre. Dropping club hits from the 90s and 00s, this concludes our special 4 part Ep. 200 by covering 4 decades! Dance music has come a long way in that time but one thing has remained constant: we love shaking our asses to dope music. Come get your groove on and keep the music loud!

Ep. 200: Decades Of Dance, Pt. 1

Holy crap, we’ve turned 4 years old and have hit 200 episodes! When we started the podcast in 2013, we never imagined sharing music with over 34,000 people across the globe each week. We’d like to thank all of the incredibly talented guest DJs we’ve had on throughout the years. You continue to inspire us every Saturday. Most importantly, we want to thank our amazing listeners — especially those who’ve been with us since day 1. Your support has kept us going each week. To celebrate the milestone, our resident DJs have put together a special 2 part mix featuring club tracks from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. Part 1, mixed by Maedgen & Wade Weston, spans the first 2 decades of dance club music: the 70s & 80s. Please join us in celebration by keeping the music loud!

Ep. 179: Speed Of Light

When Electric Retox started back in October of 2013, one of our goals was to provide variety to our listeners. Too many podcasts we listened to were featuring the same genre and overall sound week after week. Why not play House one week, Trap the next and follow it up with some Trance? It was a way to keep it interesting for our listeners and allow DJs the opportunity to expand themselves by trying out new things. No guest artist has embodied this more than Dallas-local Reckless Ryan. On our podcast alone, he’s played G-House, Trance, Latin House, Techno, House, Nu Disco, Deep House, Brazilian Bass and Tech House tunes. In this week’s episode, Ryan makes his 6th appearance featuring a new genre that’s he never played before: Liquid Drum & Bass. We invite you to keep the music loud for this 59 minute journey into sound!

Ep. 172: For The Love Of Bass

We welcome the return of Rhode Island-based Bass-master Boltcutter in this week’s episode! It’s been a little over 2 years since we had him on in Ep. 041 and we’re now kicking ourselves for not having him back sooner! We’ll warn you up front for this episode, kiddies — this mix will test the LFEs of your sub woofer in a BIG way. Featuring 59 minutes of hard-hitting Breaks, Neurostep, Neurofunk, Dubstep and a few other Bass-heavy genres, this bad boy should be sent to Master P ’cause it’ll make anyone say UHH! No excuses for this one…keep it loud!

Ep. 148: Sands of Time

Another episode into our Summer Series, another new artist on the podcast! We’re stoked to highlight the diversely talented PVLMS duo from Norman, Oklahoma in this week’s episode. Featuring the eclectic sounds of Lexi Sacco & Frank Stevens, we can’t decide if they’re more talented DJs or producers because whatever they put out seems to always get us going. If you dig the mix be sure to check out their Soundcloud page for more great music. But right now, we present their 57 minute mix full of Tech House, Electronica, Techno and Deep House Jams perfect for listening to as the sun goes down. Keep the music loud!

Ep. 139: Rhythm of the Night

NYC-based Chris Alker makes his Electric Retox debut in this week’s episode! Originally from Houston, Chris moved to New York in 2004 and has already tapped into the city’s creative pulse. Sharing an eclectic display of Tech House, Electronica, Techno and Deep House tunes, this 62 minute mix flirts with brooding tones and funky grooves designed for the dark, sweaty corner of the dance floor. We invite you to find your rhythm and keep the music loud!

Ep. 106: Ace Of Bass

Another Saturday, another Dallas-local guest DJ! Coming from Dallas’ brother to the west (Fort Worth aka Funkytown), T-Rod is a resident DJ at the hopping Foch Lounge on Wednesday nights. A 6-year veteran behind the decks, he drops a 63 minute mix sure to do some damage on the low frequencies of your speakers. This one features a ton of current Garage and Bass House jams so make sure your sub’s cranked waaaaay up! And as always, tune in and keep the music loud!

Ep. 100: Greatest Of All Time

Party people, we’ve been so excited to share our special 100th episode with you for a long time! This is a milestone for us and we want to celebrate it with YOU, our beautiful listeners! We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to party with you every Saturday. From international DJs to superstar producers, Dallas-local mixmasters to unknown bedroom DJs across the globe, we hope you have enjoyed the great music we share with you each week. It has been our privilege and pleasure. In honor of this great celebration, our resident DJs (The House Brothers and Wade Weston) bring us the 15 greatest electronic tracks of all time! Our team composed a list that was voted on by thousands of EDM listeners all over the world. As with any list, it’s completely subjective and you may not agree with each selection but there’s one thing we will guarantee — you’ll have a smile on your face for this trip down memory lane. Enjoy and keep the music loud!

Ep. 097: House Of Love

Resident DJ Red (from The House Brothers) has found Jack in this week’s episode. And Jack had a groove. He shares Jack’s groove with the world in this 64 minute mix full of funkafied, groovy House jams primed to heat up the dancefloor. This is the second to last mix of our Summer Series so grab it while it’s hot! Tune in and keep the music loud!

Ep. 068: Creature of the Night

We continue our California Invasion with another guest DJ from the West Coast in this week’s episode. M76 is a hella talented DJ and producer with a penchant for Techno. He takes us on a 57 minute journey full of Tech-infused beats that will have you exploring the dark side of the moon. Fasten your seat belt because we have lift off! Tune in, follow us and keep the music loud!

Ep. 067: House Of Jack

Hailing from Mission Viejo, California, this week’s guest DJ is playing straight to the heart of all the Classic House lovers out there. DJ Aden mans the decks in this week’s episode and we are stoked! In his own words, “This is pretty much the music I play when I want to rock a crowd with house music. It’s everything from soulful funky house to slamming tech-house. I had a lot of fun recording this and I hope everyone enjoys the mix.” House music + turntable scratching? Yes, please! Tune in, follow us and keep the music loud!

Ep. 055: Voices Of Eternity

It’s been a while since we’ve had our good friend DJ Piraya take over our airwaves. We’re happy to have him back and feature his work in this week’s episode. For 62 blissful minutes, we are presented with some of the greatest classic Trance and Progressive vocal tracks of the late 2000s. It’s a trip down memory lane that will put a smile on your face and a pep in your step. In Trance we trust! Tune in, follow us and keep the music loud!

Ep. 042: Sounds of the Underground

Only 1 more week left of our Summer series, party people! In this week’s episode, resident DJ Wade Weston drops an infectious mix filled with dirty basslines and rhythmic eargasms. Deep House, Tech House, Trap & Twerk are featured in a 60 minute episode that can only be described as a helluva good time. We hope you enjoy it! Tune in, follow us and keep the music loud!

Ep. 013: The Sound of Tomorrow

This week’s guest mix features the return of the uber-talented DJ Piraya. We’re happy to showcase his fantastic song selection, including 58 minutes worth of energy-filled Trance & Progressive tunes. We hope you enjoy the mix as much as we do! Tune in, follow us and keep the music loud!
